Mobile interchangeable ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER for the treatment of air and gases.

DESCRIPTION
The AIRCON® 100 is a small mobile interchangeable activated carbon adsorption filter, specially developed for the treatment and purification of air and gases. This mobile filter is adsorber and transport vessel in one. This mobile container (AIR-CON-tainer) can be used on-site as a gas phase pilot unit for the removal of VOC, solvents, odour, in all kind of applications. Of course the filter can be used for small industrial applications like sewer gas vents, air stripping, exhaust vents, chemical storage tanks vents, ...
The AIRCON® 100 is normally delivered pre-filled on site and can easily be moved by a hand pallet truck or forklift. The filter should be placed on a flat and hard surface.
The filter is normally used up-flow as single filter or in parallel with other filters. Screw connections allow the filters to be configured on site to the process arrangement required by the operators - the outlet can be provided with a vent cap.
The filter is operated until saturation of the activated carbon. Once the activated carbon is saturated, normally the entire filter is replaced by another unit, filled with fresh carbon. If requested DESOTEC can take back the carbon and the filter unit for disposal or recycling.

In addition to supplying activated carbon, DESOTEC ACTIVATED CARBON acts as a consultant / contractor for a full range of applications, equipment, filters and adsorbers (also fixed) and offers the service regeneration / treatment of the used carbon.

PRESSURE DROP
For the treatment of air and gases, extruded activated carbon is normally used. For the calculation and the prediction of this pressure drop, use the pressure drop graph (on request). The pressure drop depends on the size of the pellets and the design of the filter itself.

SAFETY MESSAGE
Activated carbon takes oxygen from the surrounding air. Beware of oxygen deficiencies in closed or badly ventilated spaces. Wear suitable respiratory protection devices and follow the local security prescriptions.
Activated carbon is also susceptible to exothermic reactions in contact with oxidizing material and some organic compounds such as ketones (acetone), acrylates, esters, volatile acids, amines etc. under certain conditions. In case of temperature rise, flooding with water is recommended.
